How to use Google
This is for all of the 15 year old kids who ask me how to use google.
Say that we are looking for a song called Cats on Mars. A google search of Cats on Mars returns stories about Mars and stories about Cats. To only get hits that are exactly Cats on Mars, we add quotes. "Cats on Mars" will only return pages with that exact string.
Alas, there is a bubble gum company called Cats on Mars gum. We don't want that crap. So lets only look at pages with Cats on Mars and without the word gum. That is done with "Cats on Mars" -gum.
Okay, now we got rid of most useless pages, however we are still getting the football team named Cats on Mars and other junk like Cats on Mars video game. We want the song! But, what word best describes song? Song itself? What about music? Lets get only pages with Cats on Mars with the word song or music in it. We'll use the term "Cats on Mars" music OR song.
Enough about cats on mars. Now, we want to look for stuff on a website. However, our website doesn't offer a search feature (like me :p). I only want to find pages on one specific website. This is the syntax, inurl:domain search terms. So, if I want to find all RSS addons for firefox, I would use inurl:addons.mozilla.org rss.
